Description
With this brand launched in 2009, Nathalie Haussmann pays tribute to her great great uncle, Baron Haussmann and creates Haussmann Baron Eugène, a range of elegant and refined wines, reflecting the values of the family coat of arms.
Choosing Haussmann means choosing a constant and always controlled quality. Nathalie Haussmann has chosen to develop a long-term partnership with Bordeaux vineyard owners. This partnership gives the range a unique place in the world of branded wines, supplying estate bottled, ‘grower wines’.
Nature of soils: Clay-limestone. Grape varieties: Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Vinification : Traditionnal vinification in thermo regulated tanks and ageing in concrete tanks for 12 months.
Haussmann Baron Eugène’s Saint Emilion cuvée is characterized by a robe of good intensity, as well as a frank nose of mature and jammy fruits. It has a tender mouth with good concentration, typical of ripe Merlot. Gourmand, it offers a nice aromatic persistance.
Enjoyable at all times or over a period of 3 to 5 years after careful cellaring. Ideal with grilled lamb, beef or duck. It will also be enhanced by poultry and hard cheese
