Description
With this brand launched in 2009, Nathalie Haussmann pays tribute to her great great uncle, Baron Haussmann and creates Haussmann Baron Eugène, a range of elegant and refined wines, reflecting the values of the family coat of arms.
Choosing Haussmann means choosing a constant and always controlled quality. Nathalie Haussmann has chosen to develop a long-term partnership with Bordeaux vineyard owners. This partnership gives the range a unique place in the world of branded wines, supplying estate bottled, ‘grower wines’.
Nature of soils: Clay-limestone. Grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Vinification : Resulting from a strict plot selection (Vieilles Vignes), the harvest is vinified in a traditional way in thermoregulated vats with regular pumping over to obtain an aromatic concentration and a deep robe. After the alcoholic fermentations, the wines are held at 20 °C in order to quickly make the malolactic fermentations. Aging in stainless steel vats is about 12 months to give an optimal expression of the aromas.
This wine presents a beautiful ruby red robe with a constant intensity. Its pleasant and complex nose develops red ripe fruits notes. On the palate, powerful attack, ample evolution associated with persistent f inal. The current balance of this wine will allow a good potential of ageing. Enjoyable at all times or over a period of 3 to 5 years after careful cellaring. Ideal with grilled lamb, beef or duck. It will also be highlighted by poultry and by hard cheeses.
