Organic wine is a trend that is rapidly gaining popularity, but what does it actually mean and why is it good?

Wines that are certified organic don’t use synthetic pesticides, insect repellents or fertilizers. They spray absolutely nothing on the grapes. The amount of sulphites allowed during the winemaking process is also significantly less than other wines.

These synthetic sprays are not only known to be harmful toward the environment, but to your health too, so it is best to avoid it where possible.
There are certain standards and certifications that have to be adhered to in order for producers to be qualified as organic, and can often take years to reach. So, when you find a certified organic wine, you know it’s really really pesticide-free.
